Our Pre-Kindergarten Class
Prekindergarten Foundation to Common Core
in our Classroom Setting
We believe that all children are active learners. Learning comes through purposeful play. Intentional planning promotes rich learning experiences. We encourage participation, while engaging all the children's senses so that they can fully explore their environment. Children learn through the context of interaction and relationships with family, caregivers, teachers and other children in their lives. Your child's family is a significant contributor to your child's lifelong learning and development. Actively engaging with your children in their early years is essential to your child's successful learning experiences. Each child is unique and develop at different rates. No one child's development can ever be compared to another. A child's skill set can be just as rich as another child's but in different areas.
In our Pre-K program, your child will explore cause and effect, learn critical thinking skills, spell, read letters, say and spell their name as well as learning about comprehension of the spoken and written word. We take such pride in the accomplishments of our young children and enjoy celebrating their achievements with you, their parents!
Lead Pre-KindergartenTeacher
Ms. Karla
Hi, My name is Karla Maraia and I am so excited to be your child's Preschool/Pre-Kindergarten teacher!
I just stared with Little Feet in August 2022. I am 31 years old and have been in childcare and education for the last 8 years. I am currently finishing up my Masters in Early Childhood and Childhood Education and spent the last year in Katonah-Lewisboro School District.
I live in Mahopac with my husband and our one year old puppy, Oakley. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, as well as cooking and hiking. I am looking forward to getting to know each of the children in the classroom, and their families while providing a safe, fun and educational environment for each child to grow and explore!
Lets have a Great Year!
