Miss Erica - Preschool 1 Teacher
Hi, My name is Erica and I am your child's Preschool One teacher. I moved to this classroom from Toddler Two as the children were moving upstairs to the "big kid" room! I have worked at Little Feet since 2018 and have worked in most of all the classrooms in the building. I live in Patterson with my family and enjoy boating, concerts, sporting events and being with my friends! |
Preschool OneThis new room has been introduced in our center and we are so excited to have our younger 3 year old's spend their days in this classroom as it prepares them not only for our Preschool program but the routines that they will be engaging in, throughout their preschool/prekindergarten years. Our Preschool program offers children more challenge and also, more responsibility. Typically, all children are ready for this, as they are starting to grow up! They are information sponges, and are beginning to "know it all"! Their desire to explore is extremely prominent and with our center based curriculum, there is always a space for them to learn. With our dedicated learning "centers", children can "make believe" and be anything they would like to! Most of the children are so excited to engage with their friends in whatever center they happen to be in, when they come into school. We continue this fun, while working on curriculum. The children at Little Feet are encouraged to learn through play ( Creative Curriculum). We work on letters, tracing, phonics, finger grip ( with chubby pencils), color and letter association as well as so many other learning opportunities. The Handwriting Without Tears is an evidence based program that helps children learn finger dexterity with beading and lacing which help them learn to write. Fun lessons about letters, and abstract writing skills, will connect handwriting to different developmental goals for each child. Double lined books help children shape their letters properly. We encourage parents to assist us in potty training your children ( If they aren't potty trained already). Our teachers are excited about our children being potty trained. It helps encourage self reliance as well as self confidence and self esteem! We are excited for the children to learn the schedule and flow of our preschool curriculum ! |
